The man who is familiarly called Toro is an alumni of the Nuclear Engineering Study Program class of 1989. When he was a student, Mas Toro had won the Seriosa Competition at UGM and Indonesia. His singing ability is still maintained today. His work in the international world has begun before graduating from the Nuclear Engineering Study Program. A year before graduating he was accepted at a global company, Schlumberger. He has held various positions while working at Schlumberger, such as field engineer, instrumentation supervisor, sales account manager, contract manager, etc. ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/toronatatambun/ .)

Mas Toro said that his career was supported by his adequate ability in English, listening skills, follow-up skills and good integrity. He got this ability while still a student through his involvement in various activities on campus.

His work in the oil & gas sector eventually led him to establish his own company, namely Aren Energy Investment Pte., Ltd. domiciled in Singapore. Nevertheless, he has a strong desire to develop Indonesia, especially the younger generation with his abilities in the fields of Energy Professional, Structured B2B Sales Coach, Investor, Academic, Entrepreneurship Amplifier and Ecosystem Builder . Currently, he is also actively educating and assisting youth and students to establish business start-ups .

These things are also being carried out by Mas Toro at DTNTF by helping students to establish start-ups through Technology-Based Entrepreneurship courses. This was done by Toro, because he hoped that his beloved alma mater could grow and compete to win tomorrow. He said that life is a complex and dynamic system:

“There is nothing linear about life. Life is full of delays (surprises). What one does in his system will effect people in other complex system. You will find loop in the decision that can be opposite of what is expected or can respond accordingly. This positive or negative loop can result in balancing effect after an intervention is performed or reenforcing effect. However, the humility of our life comes from acknowledging that the system has always rooms for UN-INTENDED effects. No matter how smart the design, but it is always wrong.”
