Optics as a science is as old as mankind. It is a branch of classical physics that examines the behavior of light propagation and interaction of waves in a transparent medium (optical medium), as well as the development of a variety of instruments that can be used to detect the behavior of the propagation and interaction.
Light wave is a part of the electromagnetic waves spectrum, which can propagate in vacuum, as well as in a medium, with a very distinctive pattern of interaction for each of its components: stretching from ultraviolet wavelengths, visible-light, and up to infrared. The behavior of light waves is the interest in the study of optical science. In history, the theory of optics has been developed based on the following order: ray optics, wave optics, electromagnetic optics, and the quantum optics.
Direction of above sequence shows tendency to be more complicated and complex, but the complexity of the field is able to explain things about the nature of light in a more detail. Meanwhile, the energy content of the wave propagation of light in its interaction is another hidden properties, i.e. like two sides of a coin. that use light as a probe, and the development of instrumentation systems based on optical wave, and photonic sensors for various applications in science and technology.
ISPhOA as a scientific forum is dedicated to bring together leading national and international researchers, engineers and practitioners interested on any of the Light-based related Technologies. The seminar will offer plenary and invited talks, contributed oral and poster presentations, special sessions and exhibitions of commercial products. Social and cultural events will also take place to foster networking among the participants in a friendly manner.
We would like to codially invite you to submit papers from your original research and unpublished works to be shared with all participants during the ISPhOA 2020 forum.
The primary focus of the Seminar is on original and novel research results in the areas of design and simulations, experimental implementation, and applications of any Light-based related Technologies. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:
- Agri-Biophotonics
- Biomedical Optics, Biophotonics, and Medical Laser Applications
- Novel Optical Diagnostic Methods
- Optical Communications
- Optical Sensing and Instrumentation
- Optical Metrology Techniques
- Photonics for Renewable Energy
- Photonics ICT Device and System
- Photonics Sensing Technologies
It is hoped that this forum can promote transfer of R & D outcomes into applications that match with societal and industrial needs, particularly the ones across nationwide, ASEAN countries, and other neighboring regions.
