NBRI-Youth Ideas Competition (NBRI-YIC) 2021 is a competition held by the National Battery Research Institute aimed at undergraduate students to improve the ability of future talents to create impactful scientific works in the material field. This competition consists of scientific writing that challenges participants to explore innovative research to create papers and microblogs that can improve writing and analytical thinking skills related to materials for sustainable development, industry 4.0 and circular economy.
Held online from December 5, 2021 to December 17, 2021, this microblog competition is carried out by uploading works on Instagram social media. One of the microblog works by 2018 Nuclear Engineering students, Valerie Goldy as chairman and Imam Bayu Prasetya “4 Facts why Indonesia Has the Potential to be a Leader in Battery Manufacture”. This work was carried out because of Indonesia’s potential, which has sufficient raw materials and resources as well as a very promising investment. By carrying the title, Valerie and Imam managed to come out as the first winner (1st place).
Hopefully in the future the development of renewable energy in Indonesia will be more advanced to realize energy in Indonesia that is environmentally friendly, clean, and independent. A sustainable global energy transition is no less important, one way is by developing battery technology. As team leader, Valerie advised DTNTF students, “My message to friends is that there are many things we can do to support energy development in Indonesia, one of which is battery technology. Never stop learning and cultivate curiosity. Hopefully DTNTF students can always inspire!”
