On Friday 28 June 2019, the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Mohamad Nasir inaugurated Prof. Dr. Ir. Anhar Riza Antariksawan as Head of the National Nuclear Energy Agency (BATAN) replaces Prof. Dr. Djarot Sulistio Wisnubroto. The handover of the position was carried out at the Pasar Friday Nuclear Area, Jakarta.
Like Prof. Dr. Djarot Sulistio Wisnubroto, Prof. Dr. Ir. Anhar Riza Antariksawan who was born in Semarang, November 6, 1962 is also an alumni of the Nuclear Engineering Study Program, Gadjah Mada University. He continued his postgraduate education until he received his doctorate at the French Polytechnic National Institute. Before serving as Head of BATAN, Prof. Anhar, who was the Principal Researcher at BATAN, served as Deputy Head of BATAN in the field of Nuclear Technology Utilization until 2016.
After the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Anhar Riza Antariksawan said that BATAN will continue to present nuclear science and technology for the progress of the nation, both in the fields of health, food, industry, and energy.
